Fast mode is available on the free plan — quick and accurate for everyday reading. Pro unlocks Balanced (Gemini 2.5 Flash) and Deep (Claude Sonnet 4.5). For literature, legal texts, or academic prose, Deep gives the richest analysis.

Yes — to keep the service fast and prevent abuse, every account has a per-hour credit budget. Each lookup costs 1 credit in Fast, 2 credits in Balanced, and 3 credits in Deep, reflecting the relative compute cost. Pro users get 120 credits per hour (≈ 40 Deep, 60 Balanced, or 120 Fast lookups), which comfortably covers even very heavy reading. Free users get 20 credits per hour. The budget resets every hour, automatically.

Pro also has a generous monthly safety ceiling — 20,000 credits (≈ 6,600 Deep lookups) and 500 OCR scans per month. Real readers don't come close to these; they exist to prevent automated abuse. If you ever need more, write to me directly.
